Bookmarks Column May 2009
The Bookmarks Column is written by Library Assistant Rachael Fox, and appears monthly in The Hood River News.
Summer Reading Program
This year’s theme is Be Creative @ your library. Signups for the reading challenge begin June 9th. A full event schedule will be available by June 3rd.
Our Summer Reading Program is designed to encourage children to continue reading during summer vacation, so that valuable skills won't be lost. Our program will include performers, crafts, prizes and more.
Sunday Hours
The library’s Sunday hours will end May 31st. This service was made possible through funding provided by the Hood River County Library Foundation.
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library volunteers ran a smooth and successful book sale, which resulted in $1,378 for the library.
You can help the library anytime during the year! Purchase items off our permanent Friends of the Library sale shelves. Last year's profit was $4,701, which were used for library materials and children's summer reading programs. Become a member of the Friends or donate books for the sale. All proceeds go directly to the library. New Nonfiction Titles
